St Regis Hotel

St Regis Hotel

The forty-story St. Regis, one of the newer hotels in San Francisco, is part of the Starwood Hotel group. Built in 2005, the 269 rooms of the modern luxury hotel have amenities that outdo even the prestigious Ritz-Carlton. Standard rooms include 32” or 42” plasma televisions (there’s even a flat screen tv in the bathroom), leather-covered walls, window seats, Italian Pratesi bed linens, and even five-foot-long fainting sofas. The décor is fresh, casually elegant in tones of cream and white. Check the hotel website for special offers which include a free upgrade to a suite plus breakfast for two when you use a promo code available on their “Exclusive Offers” page. There is also the Remede Spa on site which features a lap pool and ten treatment rooms in the two-level spa/health club.

The hotel has the renowned restaurant, Ame (French for “soul”) which has garnered awards and acclaim since it opened. Named one of the city’s top ten restaurants in 2006 by Esquire Magazine and the San Francisco Chronicle, the Zagat Guide also named it “Best New Restaurant” in 2007. Ame received Michelin Stars in 2008 and 2009 for its seasonal “New American cuisine,” featuring sashimi, carpaccio and tartare, complimented by limited edition sakes. Reservations: 415/284-4040. Vitrine, on the fourth floor, serves breakfast and lunch, with indoor and outdoor seating.

Hotel rates start at $399/night. Valet parking is $57 /day with in and out privileges (price includes tax.)
