Best Western Tuscan Inn

Best Western Tuscan Inn

With a good location at Fisherman’s Wharf and reasonable rates, the Tuscan Inn has been a popular choice for San Francisco lodging for years. It’s owned by the ubiquitous Kimpton group, and is now called a “boutique hotel,” and the rooms are very clean, homey, colorful and comfy. There are 221 rooms, renovated in 2005, with free wi-fi, 32” flat screen tv’s, refrigerators, and even “pet-friendly” rooms, with no extra charge. There is a free, 5-6 p.m. wine and Italian beer reception daily. Frommer‘s has selected the Tuscan Inn as the best hotel in Fisherman‘s Wharf eight years in a row.

Drawbacks? Curiously, the hotel charges $1.65/day for use of the in-room safe. Rooms are on the small side and outside rooms are exposed to street noise so ask for an inside room overlooking the courtyard at check-in. Also, ask for a room away from the foot traffic at the ice machines.

Rates start at $206/night. Valet parking is $42/day and $50 for SUVs. AAA discount for parking is $35 and $45 for oversized vehicles and $29/day parking for hybrids.
