Argonaut Hotel

Argonaut Hotel

The former warehouse at the Cannery on Fisherman’s Wharf where William Randolph Hearst stored pieces of his fabulous collection bound for his castle at San Simeon, has become a boutique hotel. The Argonaut does not hide its warehouse origins, keeping the timbers, steel doors and brick walls intact. But what was once the historic 1907 Haslett Warehouse is now a 252 room Kimpton hotel, widely considered to be one of the best hotels on Fisherman’s Wharf. Most of the rooms have great views of the waterfront, San Francisco Bay and Alcatraz. The décor is strictly nautical, a luxury cruise ship-chic vibe, with white-washed furniture and guestroom colors in navy blue and white and golden yellow with red accents. It may be over-the-top at times, a little too hotel-as- theme park ambiance. But it is a pleasant, clean place to stay, and very popular. It may be hard to get a reservation unless you book well in advance. The four-story hotel is located in the San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park.

Amenities include a second floor fitness center, a daily hosted wine hour and an in-house pet program including pet treats, custom made bed and even a pet mini bar. There are also 6 “tall rooms” available with extra-long beds and raised shower heads.

Rates start at $245/night. Valet parking is $43/day with in and out privileges (plus $15/day for over-sized vehicles.) They will discount the valet parking rate by 25% for guests arriving in a hybrid vehicle.
